Foinneóg: 75 Bliain Ag Fás will conclude with a live event at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann this August. Taking place at The Studio, Grand Opera House, Belfast, on Friday 7 August at 5.30pm, the event marks the finale of the ten-part podcast series celebrating 75 years of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann.
The live show forms part of “75 Bliain ag Fás”, Comhaltas’ anniversary celebration recognising 75 years of supporting and promoting traditional Irish music, song, dance and language at home and around the world.
Hosted by Máire Ní Churraoin, the series has given young people aged 18 to 30 a platform to share their experiences across topics including beginning in Comhaltas, teaching, youth leadership, performance, media, Irish language, set dancing, the social side of tradition and the global Comhaltas community.
Produced by Calum McGregor and David Browne on behalf of Ardchomhairle CCÉ, the live finale will bring together youth voices from across the organisation for an informal conversation reflecting on the ideas, experiences and energy young people bring to Comhaltas today. Tickets are limited and available through the Grand Opera House website.

Quotes from the team:
Calum McGregor - Producer and Óg Bhaill (Ardchomhairle CCÉ)
“Fleadh week is one of the few times in the year when every generation of the Comhaltas community comes together, swapping tunes, stories and ideas. This event gives us the chance to put a particular spotlight on the young people helping to shape that community now. We want it to feel less like a formal panel and more like a conversation: honest, funny and full of the ideas, experiences and energy that young people bring to Comhaltas.”
Máire Ní Churraoin - Podcast Host
“Is mór an onóir dhom a bheith mar bhean an tí ar an bpodchraoladh seo! It is a huge honour to host this podcast, celebrating 75 bliain ag fás and chatting to accomplished members of Comhaltas about their journeys growing up through Comhaltas and their hopes for the next 75 years of the organization!”
Iona Ritchie - Podcast Guest (Episode 5)
“Being part of Foinneóg: 75 Bliain Ag Fás has been a real honour, and one of the highlights of my involvement with Comhaltas to date. The live recording at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann provides a fitting finale to the series, celebrating the inspiring work young people are doing to strengthen branches, promote Irish traditional culture at home and abroad, and help shape the future of the organisation. The series stands as both a time capsule of Comhaltas’ 75-year milestone and a source of inspiration for the next generation, reflecting Ardchomhairle CCÉ’s continued commitment to ensuring young voices are heard, valued and central to the organisation’s future.”
