How to get to Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2024
There are so many ways to make you your way to Wexford! Wexford Bus is the Official Travel Partner of Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2024 and operates the most extensive network of bus and coach services in and out of Wexford. Where possible, Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann encourages visitors to travel to Wexford by public transport and consider walking, cycling and using the local buses while in the town. Please remember that travel emissions contribute the Fleadh’s carbon footprint, if travelling by public transport is not an option, please consider car sharing.
A Traffic Management Plan will be in place during the Fleadh which will result in several road closures and restrictions.
There are numerous car parks in place on the outskirts of Wexford Town with free shuttle buses operating to the town centre. When parking in these car parks please take note of where you have parked and the colour of your car park.
Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann Traffic Management Plan 4th – 11th of August 2024
- Red – Town Centre Roads/Streets to be closed from 10.00am to 4.00am the following day.
- Wexford Bridge to be closed to private vehicles from 10.00am to 4.00am the following day.
- Redmond Square – limited access for public transport & access to supermarket only.
- Blue Routes / Soft Closure – restricted access.
- Green Routes/Safe Routes – routes for use by emergency services.
- Black arrows – temporary one-way system.
While travelling around Wexford town, Wexford Bus operates 2 bus routes in Wexford town connecting the town with Clonard and Drinagh. For the duration of the Fleadh, Wexford Bus will be operating these free of charge, operating an amended route due to closure of the Quay. There are numerous car parks in place on the outskirts of Wexford Town with free shuttle buses operating to the town centre. As you arrive to Wexford please follow the signage directing you to the most suitable carpark. When parking in these car parks please take note of where you have parked and the colour of your car park.
The cost of the Park and Ride is €10 per day. Payment can be made on entry to the car park by card or cash.
Car parks open at 7.30am each day with the first bus departing at 8.00am. Shuttle buses will run approximately every 30 mins until 2.00am. Car parks will close at 2.30am. The times and frequency of the shuttle buses may be extended during peak periods.
The Shuttle buses drop off points will be Redmond Square, Roches Road, Trinity Street and Ferrybank depending on what route you have taken. See map below for routes Shuttle Bus. The Park and Ride areas will be manned by volunteers and Wexford County Council staff.
The car parks will be adequately lit with all essential services that are required.

There are in excess of 23 daily services in each direction with additional night-time services added for the duration of the Fleadh. Booking in advance is advised. For details see www.wexfordbus.com

There are regular services in both directions with additional evening services added for the duration of the Fleadh (up to 11 daily services in each direction). Booking in advance is advised. For details see www.wexfordbus.com

Wexford Bus will be operating up to 5 daily services in each direction for the duration of the Fleadh. Booking in advance is advised. For details see www.wexfordbus.com

With 6 daily services in each direction and additional evening services added for the Fleadh this is a very convenient way to travel to/from Wexford Town. For details see www.wexfordbus.com

Operating up to 5 times daily this new route serves the areas of Glyn, Killurin, Ballyhogue, Bree and Enniscorthy. For details see www.locallinkwexford.ie

Wexford to/from Rosslare Strand & Harbour via Tagoat
With 15 daily services this regular service is an ideal way to travel in and out of Wexford town. For details see www.locallinkwexford.ie

Expressway Route 2 to/from Dublin

Bus Eireann Route 40 to/from Waterford
Up to 6 daily services per day in each direction. See www.buseireann.ie
Irish Rail operate up to 5 daily trains to Wexford from Connolly Station serving Pearse Street station, Dun Laoghaire, Wicklow, Arklow, Gorey and Enniscorthy enroute. Additional train services will be added for the duration of the Fleadh. See www.irishrail.ie

There are two national roads that lead to Wexford town. From the north of the county take the N11 (M11 from Dublin). If travelling from the west of the county, or east from Rosslare, take the N25.
