Travelling to Wexford Town During the Fleadh
What streets will be closed for Traffic during the Fleadh?
The centre of town, Wexford Bridge and Quays will be fully pedestrianised from 10.00am to 4.00am each day. Vehicular deliveries can only be made during the hours of 4.00am to 10.00am each day.
Is there a permit required to enter the pedestrianised area of the town?
No access will be granted to enter the pedestrianised area of the town between the hours of 10am to 4am daily. The pedestrianised area of the town will be open between 4am and 10am daily to allow for deliveries, refuse collection etc and no permits will be required to enter these areas during this timeframe.
How can people get from Castlebridge to Wexford Town?
The bridge will be open to traffic from 4.00am until 10.00am daily. People travelling from Castlebridge by car can access the town by crossing the bridge before 10.00am each morning but will need to travel home via Crossabeg if after 10.00am. Park and Ride facilities will be available to use in Ardcavan where the shuttle bus drop off will be at Ferrybank. Pedestrian access only across the bridge from shuttle drop off. No bicycles or e-scooters will be permitted due to pedestrian safety issues.
Parking at the Fleadh
What parking is available in the town during the Fleadh?
All on street parking and carparks that are located outside the pedestrianised areas of the Town will be available to use as normal during the Fleadh. Please be aware that due to the increase in visitors to the town this parking may be full to capacity.
Can I park at my friend/family’s house in town and travel to the Fleadh from there?
If the house is located outside the pedestrianised area, you are free to park either on the premises or on the street, while adhering to the parking byelaws, and walk to the main pedestrianised area from there or travel by the Wexford Town Bus to the Transport Hub in Redmond Square.
Where can people with ON STREET PARKING PERMITS living in the pedestrianised area of the town park?
Holders of valid Parking Permits for on street parking will be allowed to park anywhere in the town outside the pedestrianised areas while adhering to the parking byelaws. Any queries on parking permits need to be directed to Wexford Borough Council on 053 9166990 or email wexfordborough@wexfordcoco.ie.
I work in Wexford town – where can I park?
There are a number of car parks in town that are not located in the pedestrianised areas of the town that will be open as normal and also on street parking outside the pedestrianised areas will be as normal – please note that due to an increase in traffic and visitors to the town these spaces may be full to capacity.
What if I park illegally?
Any illegal parking, blocking of entrances etc will be dealt with in conjunction with the Gardai and vehicles will be towed if necessary. All towed cars will be left in the top car park at the Wexford County Council Buildings, Carricklawn, Y35 WY93. There will be no charge to get your car back. If there are any issues they should contact the Gardai on (053) 916 5200 or the towing company, Donohue Motor Salvage Enniscorthy on 053 924 3399.
Is there Parking for People with Disabilities?
Designated parking for people with disabilities has been allocated on Hill Street, Trinity Street and Ferrybank. The official Government issued Disability Parking Permit (Blue Badge) must be clearly displayed in the front windscreen of the vehicle on approach to the car park.

Where can I get the competitions timetable?
Competition timetables for both music and dancing will be posted here on this website when they have been finalised.
Can I drive to the competition venues?
Most of the venues are located outside the pedestrianised areas, so yes you can drive to them.
Please be aware that there will be limited parking available at the venues but there will be a number of car parks and on street parking close by. Also, please be mindful of residents when parking in a residential area.
Is there a bus that passes the competition venues?

How to I get a large-sized musical instrument to a venue?
There is a drop off area for musical instruments at each venue. If no free parking space is available at the venue, you must find parking elsewhere.
