Travelling to the Fleadh
All on street parking and carparks that are located outside the pedestrianised areas of the Town will be available to use as normal during the Fleadh. Please be aware that due to the increase in visitors to the town this parking may be full to capacity.
If the house is located outside the pedestrianised area you are free to park either on the premises or on the street while adhering to the parking byelaws, and walk to the main pedestrianised area from there or travel by the Wexford Town Bus to the Transport Hub in Redmond Square.
The centre of town, Wexford Bridge and Quays will be fully pedestrianised from 10.00am to 4.00am each day. This pedestrianised area is marked in red on the map. Vehicular deliveries can only be made during the hours of 4.00am to 10.00am each day.
The bridge will be open to traffic from 4.00am until 10.00am daily.
People travelling from Castlebridge by car can access the town by crossing the bridge before 10.00am each morning but will need to travel home via Crossabeg if after 10.00am.
Park and Ride facilities will be available to use in Ardcavan where the shuttle bus drop off will be at Ferrybank.
Pedestrian access only across the bridge from shuttle drop off. No bicycles or e-scooters will be permitted due to pedestrian safety issues.
Park and Ride Facilities will be available at all of the main entrance roads into the town, locations are highlighted on following map below.
The cost of the Park and Ride is €10 per day. Payment can be made on entry to the car park by card or cash.
Car parks open at 7.30am each day with the first bus departing at 8.00am. Shuttle buses will run approximately every 30 mins until 2.00am. Car parks will close at 2.30am. The times and frequency of the shuttle buses may be extended during peak periods.
The Shuttle buses drop off points will be Redmond Square, Roches Road, Trinity Street and Ferrybank depending on what route you have taken. See map below for routes Shuttle Bus. The Park and Ride areas will be manned by volunteers and Wexford County Council staff.
The car parks will be adequately lit with all essential services that are required.

Ianróid Eireann will be extending their services for the duration of the Fleadh and all details will be available on their website IrishRail.ie O’Hanrahan Station is located in Redmond Square, the main transport hub.

Taxi Ranks will be located in 1798 Street, Trinity Street and Ferrybank as highlighted on the map below.
Private buses can drop off and pick up from a designated area at Redmond Road and Trinity Street.
Designated parking for people with disabilities has been allocated on Hill Street, Trinity Street and Ferrybank as highlighted on the map below.
The official Government issued Disability Parking Permit (Blue Badge) must be clearly displayed in the front windscreen of the vehicle on approach to the car park.
Gardai will be present at the roundabouts to direct traffic. Due to a significant influx of traffic to the town please allow for delays. Visitors to the town will be encouraged to use the Park and Ride Facilities.
There will be widespread directional and information signage on the approach roads to Wexford and in Wexford Town. The road closure and one-way systems will be clearly marked. There will be reduced speed limit of 60 km/hr in operation from the traffic calming on the approaches to town and around the ring road. Illegally parked vehicles or vehicles causing an obstruction will be towed away.
Yes there will be a one-way system in the interest of road safety to facilitate a drop off point on the Ferrybank side of the bridge by private individuals and the Park & Ride Shuttle Buses. Advance warning signs will be erected out in Castlebridge to advise on restricted access and park & ride facilities.
Any illegal parking, blocking of entrances etc will be dealt with in conjunction with the Gardai and vehicles will be towed if necessary.
E-scooters and bicycles will not be permitted in the pedestrian areas at any time.
There will be designated parking areas outside the pedestrian areas for e-scooters and bicycles.
There will no be electric car charging facilities in the park and ride car parks for the event as these areas are only temporary car parks for the duration of the event. See chargemap.com for exact locations as to where the closest charging points are to the event. Please be aware that some existing charging points are located in the pedestrianised areas and will be not be accessible for the week of the Fleadh.
Tickets for the Fleadh Events
Wristbands (both day and weekend) for the Competitions will be on sale at the main box office located at Wexford Arts Centre and all of the competition venues.

The performances on the Gig Rig will commence at 12pm daily and will continue until 10.30pm approximately.
The Gig Rig will be located on the Quay.
A list of other events to include book launches, CD launches, and presentations will be available on our event calendar on this website.
All launches that are held in Wexford Library will be free of charge. However, you must be book in advance as places are limited.
Accommodation
A list of accommodation can be found on this website. The accommodation listed has been made available for attendees of the Fleadh in Wexford.
Attendees must contact the accommodation provider directly at the contact details listed to arrange their stay.

Facilities & General Information
There will be approximately 230 portable toilets available for use in carefully chosen locations across the town.
Disability access toilets will be available in every toilet block.
“Changing Places” facilities are located at Min Ryan Park Y35 H4X9 and The Irish National Heritage Park Y35 X313.
If you lose an item at Fleadh 2024 please contact the Fleadh Information office (Y35 YV25) who manage all lost and found property during the event.
Please provide a detailed description of the item along with your full contact details.
You are permitted to bring your dog to the outdoor events at the Fleadh as long as it is accompanied by a responsible person, on a lead and under effective control at all times.
Only Guide/Assistant Dogs will be permitted to indoor events.
Please be aware that up to 80,000 people may attend the Fleadh on any day so be mindful of how busy, crowded and loud this may be and the stress that it may cause your dog.
There are a number of ATMS located along the main thoroughfare in Wexford town known as Main Street.
Should you feel unwell at the event we have a number of First Aid posts dispersed throughout the pedestrianised areas of the town, trained medical staff on mobile First Aid foot patrol and ambulance services on site at all times.
If you need medical assistance at any stage of the event please ask one of our Information Personnel for direction to the nearest First Aid post.
Fleadh 2024 is a family friendly event. The main area of the Fleadh is pedestrianised and the event offers entertainment for all ages, picnic areas to sit and relax and a fun fair for the children.
Wristbands will be available to parents of younger children and guardians of vulnerable adults where required. The parents/guardians contact details can be written on the wristbands.
There will be a number of food vendors located on the Quay and in various other locations in the town.
There are a number of coffee shops and restaurants located on the Quay and the Main Street of Wexford which will be offering both sit in and take away options.
There are a number of Bars along the Quay and Main street.
The Fleadh Information Office is located on Wexford Quay Y35 YV25, where you can get general information, maps etc. Copies of the Clár and competition wirstbands will be available to purchase in the Fleadh Information Office.
The Fleadh Office will be located at the Presentation Secondary School (Y35 XV70).
Recording permits, competition result sheets etc will be available to get at these offices. Copies of the Clár and competition wristbands will be available to purchase here. Winners photographs will be taken here also.
The official Fleadh Merchandise Stall will be located on Wexford Quay Front, near Crescent Quay.
