Perform at the Fleadh
The Fleadh is rooted in inclusion and volunteerism. The Belfast Fleadh in 2026 will reflect these values in every aspect of its programme including the famous Gig Rig or Main Stage performances. Applications are now open to perform on the Gig Rig which will be located at City Hall.
What is the Gig Rig at Fleadh?
The Gig Rig is a major, free outdoor concert stage that will present free live traditional Irish music and entertainment throughout Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann in Belfast. As the beating heart of the festival, this main stage provides a lively, all-day experience for music lovers and families in the heart of the city.
The Gig Rig will be a space where tradition meets innovation, communities come together, and music fills the city from morning to night. Welcoming both big-name acts and emerging talent, the Gig Rig performances will share the depth of Irish traditional music, song and dance through a mix of céilí bands, solo artists, and groups. It will also share the richness, diversity and energy of traditional music from all cultures and contemporary interpretations inspired by it.
Who can apply?
Applications are welcomed from across the island of Ireland and beyond, and will be assessed through a curated selection process to ensure a high-quality, balanced and inclusive programme.
Performers may include traditional musicians, emerging artists, youth ensembles, community groups and innovative collaborations that honour tradition while pushing creative boundaries.
Performances will take place in 30–40 minute slots (11.00am to 11.00pm), creating a dynamic, accessible programme for audiences of all ages and interests, from early daytime visitors and families to evening crowds.

All EOIs will be reviewed by a selection panel made up of industry experts, representatives from Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann, and Belfast City Council. Programming decisions will consider artistic quality, relevance to the Fleadh ethos, diversity of representation, audience experience, and practical delivery considerations.

- must be from a traditional music genre or inspired by it;
- must include 4 or more performers.
