Louth County Council hereby gives notice of its intention to close a number of roads and areas throughout Drogheda Town for periods during the month of August to facilitate Fleadh Cheoil na hEireann 2019.

  • Haymarket Bridge no access off Georges  Street out only  – Access loop from St. Marys Bridge 10:30hrs-02:00hrs
  • Narrow West/West Street Access from Georges Street – Closed 10:30hrs-02:00hrs
  • Fair street Access to Georges  Street – Closed 10:30hrs-02:00hrs
  • Bolton Street Access from Patrick Street – Closed 10:30-02:00hrs (Local Access Only to Rope Walk)

    • No through road from Merchants Quay. Diversion route via Constitution Hill.
    • HGV no through road at Merchants Quay. Diversion route via North Strand Road.

    • No right turn from James  street onto Mary Street. Diversion at Bryanstown Cross Route.
    • No right turn from Mary street to Dublin Road. Diversion at Beamore Road/Duleek street junction towards Bryanstown Cross Route.
    • No right turn off the Bridge of Peace onto the Rathmullen road. Diversion at Haymarket bridge to Donore road>Marleys Lane>Rathmullen road.
    • No right turn from Rathmullen road onto Dual Carriageway. Diverson along Marleys Lane>Donore Road> Haymarket Junction.

Monday 19th August

No access to North Quay

  • No right turn off St. Marys Bridge. Diversion route for traffic via Dyer street> Wellington Quay>Dominic Street>West Street>Laurence  Street>Palace Street>King Street>Scarlet  Street
  • HGV Diversion Route via John Street >Bridge of Peace>Trinity Street>Cement  Road>Cross  Lanes>Boyle O’Reilly Terrace>Beechgrove  Terrace>Hardmans  Gardens>Regents Place>Scarlett Street>Newfound well Road>Junction at Boylan Print>Newton road>Past Greenhills>North Strand  Road
  • No through road from Merchants Quay. Diversion route via Constitution Hill.

Parking will be prohibited along the roads when Road Closures are in effect.

Deliveries to Business premises in the above areas will be facilitated from 6am to 10.30am each day.

Emergency Services will be facilitated at all times.

Any person who wishes to object to any of the closures should lodge an objection in writing (envelope clearly marked

“Road Closure objection,  Fleadh 2019 ”) to the undersigned not later than 12 noon on Tuesday 23rd July 2019.
