Turkish Airlines and Globe Travel have announced sponsorship of Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2018 which will take place this summer in Drogheda from 12th– 19thAugust.
Speaking on behalf of Turkish Airlines, General Manager Mr. Hasan Mutlusaid, “We’re tremendously excited by our partnership with this year’s Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann and are looking forward to supporting the fantastic week when Drogheda takes the world to its heart.It’s a lively and appropriate way for us to thank and engage with our customers north and south and to celebrate this event together.
At Turkish Airlines we talk of the positive role of travel in “cultivating our curiosity and finding delight in our differences” and Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann echoes those sentiments.”
The partnership gives exclusive naming rights for the Turkish Airlines Lounge & Stage during the week of the Fleadh. Turkish Airlines have also contributed an impressive competition prize with the value of €10,000 for viewers tuning into TG4 for the Fleadh TV shows.

This is the first time in 46 years that the Fleadh will be held on the east coast of Ireland and the local economy is set to benefit to the tune of €40million. 400,000 visitors are expected to attend the week-long festival in August, with 30% of people expected to travel from overseas to enjoy the festivities on offer.
A group of Turkish musicians will also travel to perform at the Gig Rig during the week long Fleadh, cemeting the historic relationship between Turkey and the town of Drogheda.
